Born May 18, 1954, in Glendale, California.
Graduated from Estacada High School, Estacada, Oregon in June 1972.
Served in the U.S. Navy from January, 1973 through December, 1979.
Married my high school sweetheart, Jill Ballou, on August 31, 1974.
Received Associates in Science Degree from The George Washington University, Washington, D.C. in 1977, and completed the 4-year curriculum of Christian Service Training Institute, San Diego, California, and graduated in 1978.
We were saved in San Diego, California, under the ministry of Rev. David F. Gray, in 1974. In June 1980, we became the Pastoral Assistants to Rev. Gray, and remained until we were accepted for the pastorate at Vancouver UPC in late December 1982, where we continue to Pastor.
We have served in many elected and appointed capacities, including:
Our extended family includes 3 children (Amy, Ray Jr., Timothy), 1 Son-in-law (Shane), 1 Daughter-in-law (Charity), and 6 Grandchildren (Sherry, Cheyenne, Karissa, Jacob, Maguire, and Allison).
My first love is my family and the ministry, serving as Pastor to the wonderful Saints of Vancouver UPC. When time allows, I enjoy golfing, antiquing, and traveling, and the fellowship of fellow ministers.

In July of 1983 my family and I moved to Seattle - (Shoreline) to start a Home Missions work.
In 1993 we purchased a very run down building in Mountlake Terrace. After six months of remodeling we opened our first sanctuary. With an increase of new souls and in need of more space we built a new sanctuary to seat 200 people in October of 2000.
My wife and I have two children. Daniel lives in Redmond, WA. and Gaylene lives in Vancouver, Can. Both have degrees from Christian Life College (Stockton, CA)
I have been involved with the photographic industry for 27 years and I enjoy photography and history, and traveling.
